What these numbers mean

Chromatographic purity is the proportion of the sample that is the target compound, measured by HPLC. It does not by itself confirm that the compound is what the label says.

Mass spectral match confirms identity by molecular weight. Purity and identity together are stronger evidence than either alone.

Quantity found is the actual measured content of the vial against the label claim. A vial can be highly pure and still be underfilled, which is why we publish this figure rather than purity alone.

Understanding Our Testing Methodology

Our standard certificate of analysis includes results from High-Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with Ultraviolet and Mass Spectrometry detection (HPLC-UV/MS). This dual-approach methodology is the gold standard for peptide analysis. The HPLC separates the components of the mixture, allowing the UV detector to quantify the exact chromatographic purity of the target compound.

Meanwhile, the Mass Spectrometer verifies the identity of the compound by confirming its exact molecular weight, ensuring no structural errors occurred during synthesis. Together, these data points provide a comprehensive profile of the compound’s integrity, ensuring you are working with the highest grade materials available.

Calculating Reconstitution Volumes

It is also important to note that the quantity found reflects the lyophilized (freeze-dried) compound content. Minor variations in the lyophilization process can lead to slight visual differences in the size or shape of the material inside the vial. Because visual inspection is not an accurate indicator of mass, actual measured content is a far more reliable metric. Always refer directly to the certificate of analysis for the definitive net weight when calculating your reconstitution volumes.
